" Artists sometimes make more obvious references with a Master's work such as that of Mayet Ligad Yuhico's interior with a big window. But instead of painting the scene outside as Pierre Bonnard is wont to do, she cuts up the landscape into four sections to fit into the window pane. Each can be an independent painting. Yuhico's colors are closer to the palette of the Nabis group of which Bonnard and others followed after Gauguin. Its strong colors are as pure as the emotive content that motivated to place them next to each other."
